Dina is an artist in every sense of the word.
She brightens a room just by walking in the door; her sunny demeanor and energy are infectious, and she has always channeled them into her art. Growing up in a family full of artists, including her brother, uncle, aunt, and grandfather, she has always known where she wanted to be in life.
In 1999, she was a Broad Ripple High School Art Magnet grad, and then took off from Herron School of Art and Design in 2004 with a BFA in Painting and minors in Philosophy, Art History, and Sociology.
Dina set up her own painting studio in the Stutz Building in 2006, which eventually led her into a tattoo apprenticeship in 2009.
In 2012 she took the next step in her artistic career when she and fellow artists Laura Black and Gerrit Verplank went on to spread her wings and establish the Firefly Tattoo Collective, that she might grow and continue to enrich all the lives she touches through her art.
A natural, Dina loves to paint with oils and mixed media, fashion her own jewelry, and tattoo (of course). She prolifically creates, her art running the gamut from whimsical and dark all the way to lighthearted and airy, and there’s always someone to whom her creations speak. She puts all of herself into every piece of art she makes, and it shines through in each her tattoos.
In the rare moments when she’s not creating, she enjoys jumping on her trampoline and spending time with her one-eyed pirate dog, Wille. Yar.
***We are devastated to announce that Dina passed away on March 2nd, 2017 following a long battle with cancer. Thank you for visiting our page and for your interest in her beautiful artwork.
